10 Months

Baby Z is ten months today.  She's moving into toddlerhood and out of babyness...boo hoo....She's starting to have her own little will and get angry when things don't go her way.  She's realized she can make us laugh.  She loves watching little kids and squeals with delight.  Stroller rides are a favorite and also nice for a little snooze at times.  Cheerios are another favorite {she's a great eater, just not a good drinker}.  Sleeping through the night is almost an everyday occurrence {PTL!}!  Her sleeping postions are always quite amusing...you never know how you will find her.  She's incredibly curious and loves getting into things {empty boxes, laundry baskets, bags, etc is highly entertaining}.  If a cellphone or computer are somewhere near her, she doesn't waste any time getting to them.  She has so much energy.  Naps are kept short, often a half hour, if I'm lucky an hour. 

I'm so thankful for this sweet, little, energy bundle.  I look forward to the days to come and cherish every moment with her.

PS To celebrate we're flying to Germany. :D  JK...just happened to be on the same day.

Welcoming strangers into my home

For 16 weeks now, we have had a young refugee couple from Syria living with us. They have been married a little over a year and for the majority of that time have been separated from each other, since he made the journey to Austria alone and got everything in order so that she could come legally.  Let me backtrack a bit and tell you how it all started. a little check in on life over here

-- We had our "big reveal" on facebook. It looks like we'll be having another little girl! We're thrilled for a little sister for Zoey, plus the bonus of recycling all our baby girl clothes is awesome! But most importantly, baby is healthy and all is looking well!-- -- The weather here has been so great. We've been meeting lots of friends at playgrounds and parks and going for walks. It's fun to be able to play on the playground with Zoey now that she can walk and do things! But also very tiring for this pregnant mama! --  -- We've been doing lots of house things ... looking at doors, fences, different types of floors, kitchen appliances, etc. Next WEEK , they will start the digging part of building the house and then the following week , the basement will be built!! Done w/ orientations!!

On Thursday, the last day of orientations was completed! All the new staff has had a busy last 3 weeks, but they were very informative (sometimes overload on information though). It feels great to be done with orientations and to be starting school. School starts on Monday and things at the school have been crazy trying to get things ready to go. There is a rather large construction project taking place at the school and we have been working on that since the construction workers are behind schedule ... we've been tearing off paint, repainting, cleaning, etc. My classes will not start until Thursday, since elementary has half days until then. I'm so thankful for the extra time to get things done and be prepared for my classes. I'm a bit unsure as of what to do in classes ... so I'm hoping I'll come across some great ideas! Prayers for this are greatly appreciated!
