This and That

Where is your mobile phone? On the coffee table.

Where is your significant other?  Getting his lesson ready for youth group tonight in our soon to be nursery.

Your mother?  Talked several times today already ... I love that we live in the same time zone and just call if there's a quick question. :)

Your father?  Had a quick chat this morning and is sweet as ever.

Your favorite thing?  Strawberries right now!  I could eat them all day! :)

Your dream last night?  Can't remember having one, which is shocking, since I dream all the time since being pregnant and sometimes they are really strange...

The room you're in?  Living room.

Your church?  Going there tonight for youth group.

Your fear?  Spiders...snakes...yucky things.

Listening to?  The Phantom of the Opera .... I was ironing and watching/listening to it, so it's still going.

Where do you want to be in 6 years?  Where God wants us to be, probably here in Vienna.

Where were you last night?  The school's production of Beauty and the Beast - soooo good!!!!

Where you grew up?  In a wonderful, loving, godly home in Germany with an amazing family.

The last thing you did?  The laundry.  Exciting, huh?

Your computer?  Right on my lap.

Your mood?  Content.

Your summer?  Waiting for our little baby girl to be born and then enjoying having her with us!!

Love someone?  My wonderful hubby, who gave me a Birthday Week instead of Day ... I got presents all throughout of the week. <3

Your favorite color?  Green grass that is freshly rained upon, so it's nice and vibrant!

When is the last time you laughed?  Hum...I know I've laughed today, but I can't remember what it was at....

When is the last time you cried?  Sometime recently, dumb pregnancy hormones ...

Welcoming strangers into my home

For 16 weeks now, we have had a young refugee couple from Syria living with us. They have been married a little over a year and for the majority of that time have been separated from each other, since he made the journey to Austria alone and got everything in order so that she could come legally.  Let me backtrack a bit and tell you how it all started. As the refugee crisis really started to explode here, facebook was buzzing with articles, videos, pictures, etc. of the situation. I read a lot. I saw a lot. I was moved. I was troubled. But what could I do? I had a three year old and one year old at home.  ... I could teach some German. But when?   ... I could donate clothes and other items that were needed. But that didn't seem like enough. ... I could give money. But I wanted something more tangible.  I would put my youngest to bed and during those days, she needed lots of TLC in order to get to sleep. I kept thinking about the refugees and how they didn't

a little check in on life over here

-- We had our "big reveal" on facebook. It looks like we'll be having another little girl! We're thrilled for a little sister for Zoey, plus the bonus of recycling all our baby girl clothes is awesome! But most importantly, baby is healthy and all is looking well!-- -- The weather here has been so great. We've been meeting lots of friends at playgrounds and parks and going for walks. It's fun to be able to play on the playground with Zoey now that she can walk and do things! But also very tiring for this pregnant mama! --  -- We've been doing lots of house things ... looking at doors, fences, different types of floors, kitchen appliances, etc. Next WEEK , they will start the digging part of building the house and then the following week , the basement will be built!! YAY, things are finally getting started!! So curious to see how all this is going to go. We stopped some new neighbors and introduced ourselves and let them now things wi

Done w/ orientations!!

On Thursday, the last day of orientations was completed! All the new staff has had a busy last 3 weeks, but they were very informative (sometimes overload on information though). It feels great to be done with orientations and to be starting school. School starts on Monday and things at the school have been crazy trying to get things ready to go. There is a rather large construction project taking place at the school and we have been working on that since the construction workers are behind schedule ... we've been tearing off paint, repainting, cleaning, etc. My classes will not start until Thursday, since elementary has half days until then. I'm so thankful for the extra time to get things done and be prepared for my classes. I'm a bit unsure as of what to do in classes ... so I'm hoping I'll come across some great ideas! Prayers for this are greatly appreciated!
