Week 15 + 16

I'm home from school today - resting and trying to get over the nasty stomach virus that I had yesterday.  It was a rough day, but thankfully today is much better.  This gives me some time to update my blog.

Week 15 in my pregnancy was finally the week were I was able to keep food down and feel much better.  It happened just on time, too, since that was the week Felix's family and us drove to the mountains.  They got to go skiing and I got to relax, take walks, swim, read and rest!  It was wonderful!!  I'm very thankful for the time we had together and the down time I was able to have.  Here are some pictures that I took while there:

The snow was so beautiful!!

Last week was Week 16 and minus a few days of not feeling too great, it was pretty good otherwise.  I'm still trying to figure out how much rest I need and how much I can do.  I was able to bake and cook on Friday - I haven't done those things in months!!  Felix was surprised to come home to the smell of dinner.  :)  He's been taking over meals, which has been such a huge help!!  I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

Today in a week, we have another doctor's appointment.  If the baby is in the right position, we could be able to find out what we are having!  I hope he or she is ready to show us what they are!!  Everyone keeps asking and wondering.  I dreamed the doctor said it was a boy ... we'll see if that's true or not.  :)

Happy Monday everyone ... I hope any nasty sick bugs stay away from you!

Welcoming strangers into my home

They have been married a little over a year and for the majority of that time have been separated from each other, since he made the journey to Austria alone and got everything in order so that she could come legally.  Let me backtrack a bit and tell you how it all started. As the refugee crisis really started to explode here, facebook was buzzing with articles, videos, pictures, etc. of the situation. I read a lot. I saw a lot. I was moved. I was troubled. But what could I do? I had a three year old and one year old at home.  ... I could teach some German. But when?   ... I could donate clothes and other items that were needed. But that didn't seem like enough. ... I could give money. But I wanted something more tangible.  I would put my youngest to bed and during those days, she needed lots of TLC in order to get to sleep. I kept thinking about the refugees and how t...

6. chair

Z is loving her new "chair"- no more laying around in the buggy for this little one. {unless of course she's napping} She loves looking around and taking it all in. I love being able to see her better this way and laugh together. Just today I got stopped at the grocery store by a woman that asked me if I knew how adoringly my baby was looking at me.  It was a strange, yet funny and sweet, experience...very un-Austrian.
