Miriam Sheppard



was born yesterday around 3:20 pm. She weighs 7 lbs and 8 oz and is 21 inches long. I so wish I could be there and meet this little bundle of joy! I am so thankful for facebook and magicjack! They have been making this being away bit so much better! Congrats, Leanna and Nathan! So excited for you and wishing I could be there to celebrate your precious baby girl! Kisses to Baby Miriam!

Now I have four nieces and another one due in December! Wonder when the boys will join our ranks....

Welcoming strangers into my home

For 16 weeks now, we have had a young refugee couple from Syria living with us. They have been married a little over a year and for the majority of that time have been separated from each other, since he made the journey to Austria alone and got everything in order so that she could come legally.  Let me backtrack a bit and tell you how it all started. who know you could buy cheerios here ... I didn't!  for almost $4!!!  yikes!

6. chair

Z is loving her new "chair"- no more laying around in the buggy for this little one. {unless of course she's napping} She loves looking around and taking it all in. I love being able to see her better this way and laugh together. Just today I got stopped at the grocery store by a woman that asked me if I knew how adoringly my baby was looking at me.  It was a strange, yet funny and sweet, experience...very un-Austrian.
